Happy Top Ten Tuesday! I wasn’t into today’s theme (and I had to make a queue to prepare for my vacation) so here’s a theme from two weeks ago: Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype! I’ve read a lot of “hot” books and am always disappointed when they aren’t as good as I hope they’ll be, but more often than not I get the reason they’re so talked about. So here are some of my favourites!

Happy Top Ten Tuesday! Here’s another theme I’ve been looking forward to for quite a while: Books You’d Mash Together. I ended up having a conversation with one of my friends about this, about what some of our favourite books were and what epic stories could come if they were all smashed together. This theme turned out to be a great kind of writing prompt, and I’ll probably look back to this list in the future for writing ideas!

Time for another Top Ten Tuesday bookworms! I was looking forward to this week’s topic so much that I ended up using the theme Books With Sensory Reading Memories as a prompt to write a blog post on my personal blog. The theme covers anything from where you were reading the book, what you were doing, who you were with, what you were eating, etc. It’s an interesting topic, but I don’t have many books to relate it with (just the one I used for my personal blog post). So this week I’m focusing my Sensory Reading Memory on my love of books and how that came to be.

Another Top Ten Tuesday AND I AM SO UNBELIEVABLY PUMPED FOR THIS WEEK’S THEME I CAN HARDLY HANDLE IT!

This week’s theme is Top Ten Favourite Novellas/Short Stories and I absolutely love short stories! I’ve always loved reading a good short story that can hook me and make me think just as in-depth as any book can. For the ones I’ve listed this week I wrote a small non-spoilery summary and provided a link to each story. Continue reading

Hooray it’s Top Ten Tuesday! Sorry for missing last week, we had a long weekend for Canada Day and it really messed me up. But I’m back this week and am digging this theme! This week’s theme is Ten Best Books I’ve Read in 2018 (So Far).I’m still new to regularly posting on this blog, so I didn’t know a bi-annual look at what book bloggers are enjoying so far was a thing.

Also fair warning, I’ve only read seventeen books this year (I am WAY behind on my Goodreads goal and it is slowly panicking me) so most of the books I’ve read will be on this list, but what can you do! Continue reading

Happy Top Ten Tuesday bookworms, I hope it’s been terrific so far!

This week’s theme is Books to Read By the Pool/At the Beach. Now bookworms, I love reading, every book blogger does, but I cannot read by a pool/beach. It’s not like I’m afraid of getting the book wet or anything like that, it’s that if I’m near water then I’m swimming in it! I just love swimming too much! The idea of sitting on a deck/beach reading when I’m so close to the water is just mind boggling to me, but you do you!

So I’ve tried to choose some water-themed books that you might want to read by some water and I might want to read because it makes me want to swim! Continue reading

It’s time for another exciting day of Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s theme is Books That Awaken the Travel Bug In Me. I love traveling, even though I haven’t been to many places (except around my province), probably the furthest I’ve been is Florida and Disney World. But still, I like traveling to other places and just the act of traveling: planes, trains, and automobiles (hehe) I find it all so relaxing to watch the scenery zoom by. Sometimes I wonder if I enjoy the act of traveling better than arriving at a destination. I guess I’ll just have to travel some more to figure it out! Continue reading

Time for another rousing edition of Top Ten Tuesday!

This week’s theme was a difficult for me so I had to make some changes. Originally the theme was “Books I Decided to DNF too Quickly” but the thing is there aren’t a lot of books I will not finish. I usually read a book to the end because I usually hope that a good ending will turn the whole book around, though sometimes that doesn’t happen. Instead, I’ve changed the theme to books that disappointed me in one way or another.

What are some books that have disappointed you? Continue reading

Happy Top Ten Tuesday! I don’t know why but I feel like I’ve been very absent from my blog and my bookstagram, even though I’ve been posting on the latter everyday and the former has been updated pretty steadily. I think it’s because I’ve read a lot in the past few days. I finished my re-read of Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones and fell in love with it all over again. I also just finished The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, review up Thursday! And I just started reading Castle in the Air, the second book in the Howl’s Moving Castle series!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is bookish worlds I’d want to/never want to live in. I chose five for each category. It’s so easy to read a book and think “wow I wish I lived here” and much harder to find books I wouldn’t want to live in. What about you? Continue reading

Sorry about not posting a Top Ten Tuesday last week, I completely spaced on it! But I’m back this week and ready to make some lists!

This week’s theme is AMAZING because it’s about best character names! I don’t know about you, but sometimes just finding out a character’s name will make me interested in reading the book, or inspire future names for kids! I’ve always loved names and name meanings though, so it makes sense that I’d like character names! Continue reading
