Happy Top Ten Tuesday bookworms, I hope it’s been terrific so far!

This week’s theme is Books to Read By the Pool/At the Beach. Now bookworms, I love reading, every book blogger does, but I cannot read by a pool/beach. It’s not like I’m afraid of getting the book wet or anything like that, it’s that if I’m near water then I’m swimming in it! I just love swimming too much! The idea of sitting on a deck/beach reading when I’m so close to the water is just mind boggling to me, but you do you!

So I’ve tried to choose some water-themed books that you might want to read by some water and I might want to read because it makes me want to swim! Continue reading

It’s time for another exciting day of Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s theme is Books That Awaken the Travel Bug In Me. I love traveling, even though I haven’t been to many places (except around my province), probably the furthest I’ve been is Florida and Disney World. But still, I like traveling to other places and just the act of traveling: planes, trains, and automobiles (hehe) I find it all so relaxing to watch the scenery zoom by. Sometimes I wonder if I enjoy the act of traveling better than arriving at a destination. I guess I’ll just have to travel some more to figure it out! Continue reading

Time for another rousing edition of Top Ten Tuesday!

This week’s theme was a difficult for me so I had to make some changes. Originally the theme was “Books I Decided to DNF too Quickly” but the thing is there aren’t a lot of books I will not finish. I usually read a book to the end because I usually hope that a good ending will turn the whole book around, though sometimes that doesn’t happen. Instead, I’ve changed the theme to books that disappointed me in one way or another.

What are some books that have disappointed you? Continue reading

Happy Top Ten Tuesday! I don’t know why but I feel like I’ve been very absent from my blog and my bookstagram, even though I’ve been posting on the latter everyday and the former has been updated pretty steadily. I think it’s because I’ve read a lot in the past few days. I finished my re-read of Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones and fell in love with it all over again. I also just finished The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, review up Thursday! And I just started reading Castle in the Air, the second book in the Howl’s Moving Castle series!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is bookish worlds I’d want to/never want to live in. I chose five for each category. It’s so easy to read a book and think “wow I wish I lived here” and much harder to find books I wouldn’t want to live in. What about you? Continue reading

Sorry about not posting a Top Ten Tuesday last week, I completely spaced on it! But I’m back this week and ready to make some lists!

This week’s theme is AMAZING because it’s about best character names! I don’t know about you, but sometimes just finding out a character’s name will make me interested in reading the book, or inspire future names for kids! I’ve always loved names and name meanings though, so it makes sense that I’d like character names! Continue reading

Hello bookworms! Sorry for skipping out on Top Ten Tuesday last week. The week before that was pretty busy and I got super lazy about setting up my queue for this blog. But I did post my review for The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood so that should count for something, right?

This week’s theme is Top Ten Books With My Favourite Colour On the Cover (or In the Title). Blue is my favourite colour which leads to the old librarian/bookstore joke of patrons coming in saying “I don’t remember what it’s called, but the cover is blue” (which does happen) but I surprisingly haven’t read a lot of blue books! Or maybe I have but they’re from the library and I can’t remember them all. Regardless, here are my favourite blue covered books! Continue reading

It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday and I’ve been looking forward to this theme for quite a while!

This week’s theme is Top Ten Frequently Used Words In (Insert Genre/Age Group) Titles, and just think about all the words that are possible for this theme! First you choose which genre/age group and it’s the best theme in the world!

I was debating doing YA, but after some thought knew I had to do common words in Thriller Titles, because I keep getting so annoyed by the recent trend of calling adult women protagonists “girls” (in fact, it’s the first word on the list!). Let me know in the comments below what words you’re tired of seeing in certain book genre/age group titles!

Hello bookworms, it’s Top Ten Tuesday and this week’s theme is a freebie HOORAY!

I was originally scared about this week being a freebie because I had no idea what I would choose to make a list of! But then I realized this freebie would be the perfect opportunity for me to plan what I’ll be reading in the next few weeks!

And away we go! Continue reading

Oh look, I remember to put where Top Ten Tuesday is from this week! I keep forgetting to put it in my posts and I hate myself for it. Though I’m sure most people know I didn’t create Top Ten Tuesday, I get really bothered when I forget. I need to tie a ribbon around my finger or something to keep me focused!

This week’s theme is Books I Loved But Will Never Re-Read which is a really interesting topic! A lot of books I read that I like I tell myself I will re-read, though it rarely happens. But I also have times when I read a book and realize that while I liked it, I wouldn’t re-read it. Making this list took some thought (and a look at my read shelf on Goodreads) but I liked remembering some books I enjoyed. Continue reading

Hello bookworms! It’s Top Ten Tuesday and that’s always an exciting thing in the book blogging world!

This week’s theme is “Characters I Liked That Were In Non-Favourite/Disliked Books.” I only managed to think of six since I can be pretty harsh with the books I dislike. If I dislike the book I usually dislike the characters to, it’s an all or nothing scenario. However, I did think of six characters I liked from books I wasn’t crazy about. I’m curious to see your comments on what books I disliked! Continue reading
