Hooray it’s Top Ten Tuesday! Sorry for missing last week, we had a long weekend for Canada Day and it really messed me up. But I’m back this week and am digging this theme! This week’s theme is Ten Best Books I’ve Read in 2018 (So Far).I’m still new to regularly posting on this blog, so I didn’t know a bi-annual look at what book bloggers are enjoying so far was a thing.

Also fair warning, I’ve only read seventeen books this year (I am WAY behind on my Goodreads goal and it is slowly panicking me) so most of the books I’ve read will be on this list, but what can you do! Continue reading

Happy Top Ten Tuesday bookworms, I hope it’s been terrific so far!

This week’s theme is Books to Read By the Pool/At the Beach. Now bookworms, I love reading, every book blogger does, but I cannot read by a pool/beach. It’s not like I’m afraid of getting the book wet or anything like that, it’s that if I’m near water then I’m swimming in it! I just love swimming too much! The idea of sitting on a deck/beach reading when I’m so close to the water is just mind boggling to me, but you do you!

So I’ve tried to choose some water-themed books that you might want to read by some water and I might want to read because it makes me want to swim! Continue reading

It’s time for another exciting day of Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s theme is Books That Awaken the Travel Bug In Me. I love traveling, even though I haven’t been to many places (except around my province), probably the furthest I’ve been is Florida and Disney World. But still, I like traveling to other places and just the act of traveling: planes, trains, and automobiles (hehe) I find it all so relaxing to watch the scenery zoom by. Sometimes I wonder if I enjoy the act of traveling better than arriving at a destination. I guess I’ll just have to travel some more to figure it out! Continue reading

Review: That Inevitable Victorian Thing by E.K. Johnston

inevitable

Publication: October 3 2017
Publisher: Dutton Books
Pages:  330 pages
Source: Gift (Thanks Dad!)
Genre: Fiction, YA, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, Alternate History
My Rating: ⛤⛤⛤⛤

That Inevitable Victorian Thing has been on my To-Be-Read pile for so long! I can’t remember how I found out about the book, most likely on bookstagram. I remember falling in love with the cover first, because look at it! It’s gorgeous! I then became interested because it’s 1) set in the future and 2) set in Canada and 3) YA and finding a book that fits all three of those categories is a very rare thing. Combine that with finding out that Johnston is a Canadian writer (who I had the pleasure of meeting at Toronto Comic Con this year) and I knew this was a book for me. Continue reading

Happy Bookmark Monday bookworms! It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these, huh?

I haven’t been having much luck with bookstagram lately. The algorithm is really messing with my likes, not that it should matter, but it’s frustrating going from posting pictures and some people seeing it to no one seeing them.

I guess you can see them here, and that’s something! Continue reading
